Be Realistic

There are many factors involved in the work of a person using psychic abilities or communicating with the other side. There are times when the connection to the other side is weak and times when it is strong. We as humans working in the physical realm can never predict when that connection is going to be at its peak, so your first hint is to make sure the person you are consulting agrees to refund your money if no satisfactory communication is made. An ethical reader will not object to this as they want to provide the best service they can.

Get References

You very seldom choose a doctor, mechanic, church or any other service without asking friends or family if they have used them and how the service was. Why should choosing a spiritual counselor be any different? If no one you know has gone to them ask the individual for a list of references. Spend a little time getting to know them if you are serious about your intention to receive a good in-depth reading.

Know What To Expect	If you have never been to a psychic or medium before, ask them before you make the appointment what to expect in your personal reading. Know what you wish to get out of a reading and if what they propose is not to your liking, ask for clarification or choose another reader.

Beware of Titles

To my knowledge, there is no licensing or accrediting association for psychics or mediums. There are many good readers with no fancy sounding title in front or behind their names. There are also legitimate readers that belong to recognized organizations that do have some protocol for their readers which can assure you of a decent reading for a fair price. Allow the content of the reading and the practices of the person to guide you as to their ability.

Promises

If the medium or psychic promises you that they will contact the exact person you are wishing communication from -- run. If they promise you that they can solve your problems: don't make an appointment with them. The prime directive of an ethical spiritual counselor is to advise you of the paths that may be available to you and to allow you to make the choice as to which road you walk. A medium is just the middleman and the spirit you are seeking to communicate with may not choose to show up. Most of the time they will but there are those times that they are unable to.

Questions	If the person who books your appointment, or the individual that is doing the reading asks for more than just your name, the nature of your concern and, in the case of a reading corresponding with astrology; your birth date, do not make the appointment. Be aware that there are many readers who, with carefully phrased questions, can produce a reading which may sound legitimate but in fact is not.

Prices	Ask for the cost of the reader's service in the very beginning. Different fees are charged for different reasons. An outrageous fee is not to be expected unless you are dealing with a highly publicized reader. If at any point in the reading you are asked for more money than the price you agreed upon; leave.

1-900	There is only one reason for nationally advertised psychic hot lines to exist; MONEY. Although some services do have reasonably good psychics on line it is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Your Guidance

There are a great deal of ethical, reliable and talented people offering their services. The world we live in today is filled with psychics, spiritual counselors, mediums, channelers, healers and other spiritually inclined services. Don't allow these hints to keep you from seeking contact with those working within the spiritual field and when in doubt as to the spiritual intent of the person you wish to work with; go within and seek the guidance that is so freely available to you.
